Tyler Mesothelioma Verdicts

In a 2014 case handled by an unaffiliated law firm, a Dallas County jury awarded a very large sum of money to the family of a Tyler man who had worked for 30 years at the Kelly Springfield/Goodyear plant. The man worked as a tire builder and with Goodyear machines that exposed him to asbestos. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2008 and died from the disease in September 2009. The jury found the defendant was grossly negligent for allowing the man to continuously be exposed to dangerous asbestos fibers without warning him. The award included a portion in economic damages, a slightly larger portion in non-economic damages and a massive amount in punitive damages.

The potential value of a claim depends on a number of important factors, including the liability of the defendant, the stage of the disease and the extent of damages the victim or his or her family has sustained. An experienced lawyer can assess the particular circumstances surrounding your claim to determine its potential value.
