
SABINE PASS, PORT ARTHUR, TX —
About 9:09 am Tuesday morning a man by the name of Ramon Ayala fell about 100 feet into “dangerous” area water from the top deck of an off-shore oil rig, according to fire marshal Paul Washburn.
At the time of this article, rescuers including four divers with the Port Arthur Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department are still searching for him.
Ramon was part of a crew working for the company ERSI to decommission the Sovereign Explorer rig when the incident occurred.
